Steampunk lamp by ChanceZero Steampunk lamp by ChanceZero
A steampunk-style lamp made not so long ago. Finally, after lots of "someday I'll try this"...

All parts but the intricate brass cup on the left and the steel parts made by myself, all copper and brass. The lamp shade actually a pice of a wine bottle with the neck cut off. The steel parts originate from a mechanical typewriter.

The switch is to be added yet, for now it is turned on and off just by plugging in and out.

Well, it is a bit too bright. But I was too lazy to matte it with sandpaper, even though it did come to my mind.

oh no, the finish on the metal is perfect! I mean that bulb looks like it would be super bright!

Yes, that's just what I'm talking about. Matting the glass part from inside would make the light dimmer and softer - right in current state it IS a bit too bright for the eye. The again, you can always simpy use a matte bulb.

AAAH! I didn't realize you could do that to a bulb!
